At Texas Motor Speedway, Chase beat an all-star cast of Sprint Cup drivers to win his first-ever NASCAR Nationwide Series race at just 18 years of age. Beating the likes of Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Matt Kenseth and Kyle Larson. With the win, Chase Elliott became the second youngest driver to win in the Nationwide Series, behind Joey Logano.
Afterwards, his father Bill commented: “I keep saying it. Never to have been at some of these places like Vegas, California and now here at Texas, and to come out and beat the kind of guys he beat — I’ll tell you what, you’ve done a heck of a job.”
